Rostering Officer

The Opportunity


Reporting to the General Manager (GM) of the Residential Care Facility (RCF), you will be responsible for:

  • Creating fortnightly rosters for the site including entering all leave
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate in consultation with the GM
  • Assist with payroll processing and record keeping
  • Facilitate the filling of vacant shifts
  • Orientate new employees to the rostering system
  • Manage roster variations
  • Administration and compliance of the police check and clearance system
  • Provide support in the recruitment process including facilitating pre-employment medicals and the first-day orientation for new employees
  • Administrative duties including updating employee files and assisting with arranging learning and development activities 
  • Respond to roster queries as needed

About You


You have experience creating complex rosters, excellent attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.  You also enjoy the part of your role that requires you to interact with employees regarding rostering queries and filling vacant shifts.


You have:

  • Sound computer skills in a broad range of applications including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills and the ability to proactively identify and meet expectations in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail skills with a focus on ensuring accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in aged care rostering is desirable
